Interlibrary Loan
An inter-library loan (ILL) is a request for books and magazine articles that we do not have in our library. We borrow them from other libraries for the requesting patron's use.
Materials
Books and magazine articles may be requested through an inter-library loan, but not any type of audio / video material may be requested.
Length of Checkout
Inter-library loans generally check out for two weeks.
Fees
There is no charge for this service, but if an ILL is returned late, there is a late charge of $0.25 per day, per ILL material. There will be a $1.00 charge if a bookband/barcode is removed from the ILL.
Item Limit
A patron can check out up to four ILL items.
Late Returns
There is a $0.25 per day late fee per ILL item.
Loan Requirements
- Patrons must have a current library card with no outstanding fines or overdue materials
- Patrons can either:
- Information Needed: Author, Title, Publisher (if known), Patron's Name, their Library Card Number, Address, and Phone Number.
Time Frame
On average, the material arrives within 7 to 10 working days once a request is received. Patrons must pick up their materials and return them by the due date. Any ILL material not picked up will result in a charge for the shipping and handling.
